"Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper."
THE PROPHET'S REWARD by Dr. John David Kirby - Part 2
The Bible tells us of another “great woman”. We refer to her as “the woman at the well”. You can find her story in the forth chapter of the Gospel of John.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
This woman “perceived” that Jesus was a prophet and “received” a personal revelation from The Christ Himself concerning His “true identity”. She also received one of the greatest revelations concerning “true worship” in the whole Word of God! Jesus Christ, as “The Ultimate Prophet”, revealed the “secrets of the woman’s heart”. As a result of His “prophetic ministry”, she went forth and became the “catalyst” for a great revival!
We see from these two “great” women that “perception brings reception”!
In other words, “If you perceive you will receive”!
These two “great” women perceived, or “saw” the truth, and received great blessings! If we will “see” and discern the true men of God, we will receive great blessings through them just as these two “great women” did.
There was another “great woman” in the Word of God, her name was Martha. This woman “received” Jesus into her home and provided for Him. She in turn “received” an incredible miracle from Jesus… her own brother raised from the dead!
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
There is an incredible “connection” between blessing a man of God and receiving from the Lord “through” that man of God! Martha opened her home to the Lord Jesus, provided for him, and received her brother Lazarus back from the dead!
The “great woman” in Shunem saw the true spirit and heart of Elisha.
She new that he was a “true” man of God, with a “genuine anointing” from God. She knew that he had something she wanted! He had the favor of God and the anointing of God on his life. She wanted the favor and anointing of God on her life. She wanted the favor and anointing of God on her family’s life. She wanted what the man of God had. It wasn’t the “man” of God she wanted, it was the “God” of the man of God she wanted!
In order to get what the man of God had, she had to “get around the man of God”. The anointing of God is imparted by association!
Verse eight goes on to say that “she constrained him to eat bread”.
She “insisted” that he stop in at her house for a meal. She “laid hold of” the man of God and persuaded him to come to her house. There is an incredible biblical principle in this text of scripture. She “made a demand on the anointing” on the prophet’s life. She “made a demand on the prophet himself”. Thereby, she made a “demand on God”! The word “constrained” means “to seize” or “to fasten upon”.
She aggressively got a hold of the one who had what she wanted! This is a vital component in “receiving the prophet’s reward”!
The woman “received” the prophet into her own home, provided for him, and thereby set herself up to “receive” from the Lord through the prophet.
The way she did this was THROUGH BLESSING the man of God.
She provided for him food to eat. She provided shelter for him. She provided what he needed in his life. She was “linking up” with the man of God and becoming a “partner” in his anointing and ministry. She provided for the man of God and God provided for her.
This is a major key to releasing the blessings of God into your life.
Find a “true” man of God and begin to bless him!
Many people are striving to receive the blessings from the Lord. Many are begging and pleading with the Lord. God is saying to you if you will obey My Word, I will bless your life. God’s Word tells us to give and it shall be given to us!
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
God’s Word tells us that whatsoever we sow we will reap!
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
God’s Word tells us how to walk in abundance and all sufficiency!
2 Cor 9:6-9
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things , may abound to every good work:
(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
God’s Word tells us how to receive the unlimited blessings of the LORD!
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
I encourage you to “tithe” to your local church. Tithe to your “storehouse”. Tithe to the ministry that is feeding you spiritually, and you will get blessed! I encourage you to sow seeds “above” your tithe to the ministries that you feel “led by the Lord” to be “connected” to! Beware of manipulation and guilt tactics used by some people to get you to give to them. Ask the Lord to show you who you should get “connected with” and support them! This will release the blessing of the “prophet’s reward” into your life! If you are not going to a church, then I encourage you to tithe to the ministry that is “feeding” you spiritually until you locate the church you are to join.
If you will obey the Word of God, and simply do what God said to do, He will do what He said He would do. That is the secret of “covenant”.
“If we will do what God said to do, “then” He will do what He said He would do.”
Many believers are frustrated trying to get God to do what He said He would do in His Word. The key is doing what He said to do first! Then He will move accordingly. I encourage you to find out what God said to do first, then obey His Word and watch the answer come speedily!
